Mike Grant

Mike studied medicine at the University of Liverpool and subsequently completed surgical and Orthopaedic training in the Merseyside region. During his training his interest in Sport and MSK injuries led to him completing a PGDip in Sports and Exercise Medicine at the University of Bath. At the same time, he was working with elite athletes for several top level Rugby League teams.

During his Orthopaedic training he started to focus his training on knee surgery and particularly joint preservation surgery, and his research led to multiple publications and international and national presentations across the UK, Europe and North America.

Prior to completing his training, he spent 6 months at the world famous Wrightington Hospital in the Northwest of England. After completing training in January 2022, he travelled to Auckland to undertake the prestigious Lower limb fellowship at North Shore Hospital, with the renowned Simon Young and Rob Sharp. Following this he arrived in Perth to enhance his soft tissue skills and joint preservation work to complete his training with the internationally acclaimed Perth Sports Surgery Fellowship under the tutelage of the expert supervisors.

Outside of work Mike is married with two young children. He tries to keep fit and enjoys triathlons, completing half iron-man distances, and still plays field Hockey to a high level, and skis when he can. He is a big sports fan watching as much live sport as he's able to…
